Auria Opens New Production Facility in Vráble, Slovakia
- New location positioned to serve Eastern Europe OEM assembly facilities
- Auria will produce automotive flooring and fiber-based decorative trim
- One of three new Auria facilities to open in 2019
Vráble, Slovakia (February 26, 2019) – Today, Auria, a global leader in vehicle acoustical and fiber-based products, ceremoniously opened the doors to its new Vráble, Slovakia manufacturing facility. The facility will produce automotive flooring systems and fiber-based decorative trim components for Jaguar Land Rover and other premium OEM customers.
The new facility spans more than 92,000 square feet (8,500 square meters) and houses both manufacturing and administrative space. The facility will initially be home to more than 100 employees and will increase to a workforce of 150 with the launch of new business expected over the next two years.
The company invested approximately $10 million in the facility to date. The location selection was strategic due to its proximity to OEM customer manufacturing facilities in the growing Eastern European region and the highly skilled, educated workforce in the immediate area.
“This new facility follows through on the commitment we have made to our customers to expand our footprint with state-of-art manufacturing,” said Auria President & CEO Brian Pour. “As vehicle manufacturing continues to grow in Eastern Europe, we see a great opportunity to support our customers from this world-class operation in Vráble.”
“Fibers represent the next frontier for technological advancement for vehicles and other consumer products,” said Shanghai Shenda Chairman Yao Minghua. “Shenda companies like Auria are proud to be at the forefront of developing and delivering fiber-based solutions from world-class plants like Vráble, that will meet the evolving needs of the transportation industry for decades to come.”
In addition to a new facility in Vráble, Auria recently broke ground on a new manufacturing facility in Wuhan, China. Once complete, the 242,000 square foot (22,500 square meters) Wuhan facility will produce automotive carpeting for Chevrolet and Buick models produced and sold in China. In January 2019, Auria China took possession of the company’s new regional headquarters in Shanghai.
